Course overview

Floristry Fundamentals X1 is a hands-on, studio-based course designed to build confidence with flower handling, mechanics and composition. Over one full day you'll make two practical pieces and study seasonal sourcing, vase work and basic business tips for freelancing florists.

Safe stem handling, wiring, taping and secure mechanics for bouquets and posies.

Curriculum (high level)

Demonstrations and hands-on practice: tool safety, wiring and taping techniques, foam and wire frame basics, creating a structured vase arrangement.

Constructing a hand-tied bouquet, ribbon and finishing techniques, packaging tips and basic photoshoot styling for portfolio images.

Sourcing seasonal blooms, cost estimation, basic pricing, and sustainable practices for Australian markets.
Materials included: seasonal stems, foam/wrap, ribbons, consumables. Bring closed-toe shoes and apron.
